Food For Thought
Ok, here are some mid day thoughts. There are currently two things that piss me off, well no, to be more precise, there have been two posts in the blogosphere that have seriously made me angry. There are a lot of other “things” that make my blood boil on a regular basis but most of which really have no place here. The two things I am referring to are the release of the new Justice video over on hypebeast and the current coverage of the nike deal over in the land of the free, china, over at slam. Again, before you all get angry, nothing personal here at against the beast or slam, but it’s the content that made me mad.
However, and I have these tirades already written, I had to check myself this morning before posting. Maybe I am getting older as 4 years ago I would have just posted what I had written. It is not that I am afraid of whatever consequences there potentially could be about criticising either Justice and / or Nike, more so, it is the thought of, is it worth it? Is it worth writing about something that makes you angry or is my time better spent writing and sharing positive events and thoughts in my life? I do consider myself to be overly critical most of the time and maybe that’s not such a great attribute to have but then, personally, I would much rather see things in black and white and call them out for what they are then be a sheep. Regardless, I am quite stuck on this one. Both, the Justice video and the Nike Event in China made me write this morning and I’m pretty angry, I’ll admit, and again, no, I am not hating/jealous etc, it’s just that I don’t buy into it.
So this is where you come into play, and I guess this is what the comment section is all about. What do you think? Firstly, do you think that I should post my thoughts on the above and secondly, and on a broader basis, do you think it’s worth it. If, by criticising something you don’t agree with do you give by your sheer mention more weight than it should? Or does ignorance make you as much as a tool / fool as the ones you are criticising. I’m intrigued. Hit me.

i will answer that question with another question. why do i/we feel so compelled to read this stuff on a daily basis? does it make us more socially aware/sound? does it allow the minutes and days to pass with ease? what value do we really get from this? maybe that was more than one question.

If you comment on the vid, you need to explain why you really hate it (or Justice for that matter). I’m afraid shite like this is sign of the times and glamorises and adds to yob behaviour and serious social problems, especially here in the UK OR is it just raw realism, Ed Banger after shock value or Justice choosing to show the MTV crowd a life they would rather not see? Its our choice as voyeur/viewer to define, and the Nike China deal, again a bunch of shite. Who really gives a fuck about this shoe, this ‘pack’ or this colourway – really, hasn’t it all gone a bit too far? So filter out the shit Steve and give us opinions on things that matter and are of interest… speak on.
