It’s been a while since I’ve worked in Paris, I was there last month as part of my plan to re discover cities as a tourist, it’s easy being driven and dragged from bar to restaurant to party but as a tourist, you in a sense get to enjoy the basics of a City,

So we have been showing our SS09 collection at the NY show in Paris, Capsule. Organised by the delightful ladies of ‘Brand Pimps’ I think in all my time in the industry, embarrassing trade-shows were something I thought I would never be free of. Well Capsule have managed to persuade me that after all these years a trade show done proper can pull it off. What I mean by proper is: Champagne for all at 7 each evening, good wine, better cheese, professionalism beyond compare, I really take off my hat to the girls from NYC. So nice to be a small part of something right at the start here in Paris.

So thank-you to all the BP’s. Deidre, Edina & Nicole. Fine Ladies one and all. Of course my time was made easy, surrounded by great lines, great people and a taste level that will never allow the girls dancing on the speedboats to infest this new part of culture that is emerging in Europe. Thank Christ! A few highlights for my own selfish tastes were a quick look at the new Haversack line and Our legacy. Really fine gear. I was also glad to hear that Lewis leathers will be opening up in West London sometime soon!!

So a massive thank-you to our Gaffer here at the Lodge, SV and Mrs V were in our company the whole time in it was a real pleasure sharing so much nice food, wine and chat. A truly Gracious couple who have supported every effort along the way. Many more chuckles…..

Robert from the store came with me to Paris, it was his fist trip and it was my intention to introduce him to the grueling world of the trade-show, boring meetings, dull dinners, headaches and Hangovers. Granted the last two were unavoidable but I think I may have given him the wrong impression of how trade-shows are. So this one is on the conscience of the girls. He now loves the industry and wants more..
