The London Festival Of Architecture is currently in full flow.
It runs for a month between June and July and there are over
500 events across the capital. Sunday I went to have a look at
POP-UP Storefront by CPH Experiments by Danish architects
Bjarke Ingels Group, which was a conceptual city space made entirely
lego.

There was a nice little suprise detail on one of the buildings…

You need to check ICONEYE for the full calander of events.
Then I headed over to Richard Prince at The Serpentine, which is
absolutely fantastic, definately a must see, a really excellent capsule
show, with some of the custom car hoods and a couple of new Nurse
paintings that I hadn’t seen before ( including a drum skin signed
by Sonic Youth) Also all the works are from the collection
of the artist which gives it a nice personal feel to the show.
Every year The Serpentine Gallery commissions an architect to design
a pavillion which houses a cafe, screening and performance space.

And very exciting it is too as we are getting the first ever Frank Gehry
construction to be realised in England. Still under construction and looking
good already, due to open on July20 and will be up until October.
See the model and previous pavillions HERE.
(also Richard Prince has programmed a screening of TwoLaneBlacktop
in the pavillion on August 16th…see you there?)
