Steven asked what we look at every day on our desktop.
Well this is what I look at.
Last year, I spent a month between Nepal, Tibet, India, Thailand, and Borneo.
I stayed in the jungle or Terai area of Nepal (travel to the Terai is ill-advised at this time due to violence in the area), and hung out with elephants. This, right here, is the elephant that would give me a bath every day. Her name is Hirakali and she’s a teenager. The man “driving her” or standing on her is the mahoot. She just loves him. Without getting into some moral story here, I can easily say that this is a picture I could look at for years because it reminds me of the respect the Nepalese have for their animals. What an amazing place and too bad it’s wrought with Mao invaders in so many areas.
