Q6 - 3 pieces of Clothing/Footwear
“In light of our eventual need to scale down our consumption, here’s a good question for the blogs: “What’s are your best three pieces of clothing/footwear that you’ve owned for at least three years and still continue to use regularly?”
Item 1: Levi’s Engineered Jeans
purchased: 2000
i bought these off the rack at the local Levi’s shop back in 2000. loved them right away. this particular pair was a light wash jean to start, but with years spent traveling, skating, working on greasy bikes, it has taken a beating. the denim is so soft and thin with new rips and in new places. i get them patched up and sewn up and has turned into a Frankenstein jean of sorts. with every new patch, this pair gets better.
item 2: New Balance 999 (japanese edition)
purchased: 2003
this pair of Triple Nine’s were copped in Toronto from Goodfoot. They were the only ones i’ve seen that carried these Japanese editions in N. America. all grey suede/mesh = old man walking shoes. these puppies dont get old to me. these feel brand new, every time i step foot in them.
item 3: Arcteryx Theta LT
purchased: 2001
this was the first jacket/outerwear piece that i had to really think about when purchasing. the price tag was $650+. but i couldn’t resist the color and the all the technology in it. so i dropped in and i can honestly say it was worth every penny. 7 years later, it still keeps me dry. it might be time to drop in on a new Arcteryx piece soon. lucky for me, they are based out this city i live in…..so the factory outlet is not too far.
