Back in 1999, I started getting letters from a young artist somewhere deep in the heart of Texas. I would get these very distinct drawings all over the envelope and random handmade stickers and little zines. A few years later, I joined this guy and Craig Metzger for my first proper art show down in Austin, Texas at Camp Fig.

That guy’s name is Michael Sieben.

Year’s later, Michael has established himself as a mainstay within skateboarding’s visual culture and has worked with some of the best companies in the industry.

Most recently, he headed up art duties at Bueno Skateboards and worked on several signature Volcom products and illustrations for Thrasher Magazine.

I received an email the other day about his latest project, a signature shoe from Adidas. The shoe is classic Sieben and classic Adidas so it’ll definitely be one to track down.

Definitely not turning my space into a product showcase but Sieben’s my boy from way back so I’m excited for him with this project.
