Man, I’ve been catching some FISH lately! I’ve been creating a backlog of posts concerning my adventures and in fact I’m about to embark on another one tomorrow. Before I do, though, I’d better get caught up on “weekly” questions. Remember, this journal is all fishing, all the time…

5: “What makes a good bar?”
Have you ever heard of bar fishing? To quote one of my many online fishing sources, “Bar fishing is quite simple, you find yourself a nice gravel or sand bar, make sure you have a lawn chair, umbrella for rain or shade from the hot sun, cooler with some lunch and beverages and you’re set. The tackle use for bar fishing is very simple: rod, reel, rod holder, weights and lures.”
I’ve been bar fishing once in my life, and I didn’t catch a damned thing. That’s not to say I wouldn’t go again though.

7: “What’s are your best three pieces of clothing/footwear that you’ve owned for at least three years and still continue to use regularly?”
First is a brown, zipdown, wool Sisley sweater that I’ve owned since 2000 which has grey, felt patches on the elbows (and like 1% spandex woven into the wool which makes it super comfy), second is a grey, wool Chocolate jacket that I’ve owned since 2002 and third is a houndstouth Enjoi paperboy hat that has a chinstrap thing which I’ve owned since 2004. If I was going on a crab boat in the Bering Sea I would pack all three of these pieces of my wardrobe and wear them inside when it was time for dinner. Sorry, no photos of this stuff.
