‘…WHERE OLD RAVERS GO TO DIE.’

Last weekend me brother & his wife came to town & he arranged for all of us to meet up and sip a few beverages.

Well it was at this ‘Soiree’ that I got talking about London & the different areas…East, West…Norf : )…do not know much about Sowf ; )

So as this conversation gets further into & now we are into specific areas, neighborhoods etc, I mention my area, Kensal Rise, or Kensal Green if you want to be a little special. So now my cousin starts to laugh & says, ‘I was at this party & this girl was taking about Kensal Rise, she said that Kensal Rise is where old Ravers go to Die’

‘…where old Ravers go to Die’, what is really sad is that it is somewhat true…there are a lot of Old Faces in the Rise, & like myself we were at Raves back in ’88 & ’89. But to have your neighborhood labelled like an elephant grave yard grabs your attention & maybe for the 1st time in ages made me feel Old.

& by the way…I ain’t Dead Yet !

Be Well.

even tho this is from the Second Summer of Love, i thought it might sync better with your post.

i think it’s the Wild Pitch mix (with “this is cocaine speaking” intro)

those days seem so long ago, different times altogether. cant remember if DJ Pierre was still in the group then. i think Roy Davis Jr had joined already.

peace & respect to all the hippies who gave us the original Summer Of Love in ‘67. The UK rave follow-ups in ‘88/89 and ‘91/92 were pretty special too. ravers never die (those experiences will live in your subconscience forever).

the “Street Tuff” track is by Double Trouble & Rebel MC.

Rebel MC is one of my favorite uk producers. by ‘94, he was making some of the best ragga jungles 12″s under his Conquering Lion alias on his own label Congo Natty.
