Trout Fishing In Canada - 008.4
“So… are there actually fish in Grizzly Swamp?” is what you might be asking by now. The answer? Hells yeah, there’s fish in there! The lake is inhabited exclusively by my absolute favorite species of fish, the Rainbow Trout.
Usually we cast from shore but Katie and I trolled around the lake in my parents’ canoe a little bit the first day. I paddled:
She watched her line. We were both using Luhr Jensen Hotshots on floating fly lines, trolling fairly slowly across the lake:
As usual, Katie caught the first fish:
Often times, Katie pulls in not only the first fish, but the only fish. But this outing…
… we both caught one!
Surprisingly, they were exactly the same size. Weird:
As you can probably tell, it’s not really about how many fish we catch or how big they are. It’s mostly just about being out there, getting out of the city. Next post I’ll show you a bunch of signs of wildlife and some photos of actual beasts in their natural habitat.
