Heath

We took a nice vacation last month, to the Bay Area to attend cousin Amy’s wedding in Sebastopol. On the way up to Sonoma from the city, we stopped in Sausalito at the Heath factory. Our dish game is pretty decent from our own wedding last year but we were needing bowls and other assorted accouterments so we stopped there to check out the “seconds” store onsite.

Heath has been around since 1948 and was all the vision of a Bauhaus-schooled bad ass named Edith.

Everything has always been produced at the awesome Sausalito factory. When we were there we thought there was a cafe but no, it was just a giant outdoor delicious bbq for all of the employees…makes you wonder what the hell you’re doing buying lunch at the really depressing deli or bodega near your job here in Manhattan. Anyway…Heath goods are amazing. Quiet, simple, hefty, solid, beautiful, good for the world, classic, real and chiiiiiic. Salt and pepper shakers are the best ever. I am enjoying them more and more every day! If you’re in the market for a set, buy them. Oh and the picture doesn’t show that they are huge…size of baseballs. Awesome.
