We Heart the US Open
I like a basketball game at the Garden as much as the next gal. I went to a hockey game once (oy). Baseball’s meh. Football, no thank you. But oh how I love the US Open in Flushing Meadows, Queens. Here are some reasons why this is unlike any other sporting event (and why, well, it’s fun for me): American Express was handing out personal radios for on-site, live broadcasts of the action. We tuned in at lunchtime to get the score in the Arthur Ashe stadium while eating lunch, etc. Mom models it here with Bodhi.
Evian water stations were selling limited edition Brumisateurs (these are ridiculously, glamorously overpriced at your local drugstore at like $3 but these US Open jammies were $6). A young boy approached as I was taking this picture and asked the woman behind the booth if he could refill his. Um, you can’t.
Yum cocktails.
Smoothies.
Big open sunny skies + Ralph Lauren shop = best. sporting. event. ever.
The tennis was good too.
