A few new noteworthy things landed at the Lodge these days, first off these new Vans Syndicates made it out here all the way from sunny California. They are the new Steve Olson signature shoe and I am really into these already. Officially they are called the V-79 HI “S”, a model that had been out of use for a while and have been brought back exclusively for the Syndicate line. This is all that new but I have been really getting into this magazine called +1 from London. It has a really nice mix of balls to walls interviews that are actually interesting and not PR puff pieces, mostly about skating, music and art and artists, which for me is the perfect mix really. The writing is solid and funny-go here to find out more. Thanks Mason for sending it over.

Here is a new project by a good friend of mine, Brett, who some of you might remember from a great little brand called UARM from back in the days. He has moved on from UARM and this is one of side projects, called Black President. Essentially he wanted to help promote Barack Obama in his bid to become the next president of the United States. Aside from their pro-Obama website they are also selling tee’s, with proceeds going towards his campaign. I am all about this, not necessarily because I agree with Mr. Obama’s ideas but because it is friends and youths being politically active, which is a great example of what should be done. Change only comes through action, real life action not internet thuggery and I am because of this backing this 100%. Looking at the alternative to Obama, anyone with even an ounce of intelligence shouldn’t even think about where his/her vote should be going this November. Follow this link for more info.
