TIME TO WAKE UP.
This coming from a Democrat who represents Southern California. Looks like Bush is really threatening at this point. Is China on his and Cheney’s back and finally demanding payment? The problem is that if the bailout package DOES pass today, we’re even MORE fit for a martial law scenario as we’re in for Zimbabwe-like hyperinflation down the road where things that used to cost 1 dollar now cost 10 trillion dollars. Now if they really want socialism, just give the 700 billion to the people–that should stimulate the economy, right?

There’s a lot of politics going on from Bush’s side, let’s not forget he’s fighting for his legacy. His approval rating are the lowest in history - no president in the history of the US has had a lower approval rating- and he’s trying to save his ass by trying to make sure the economy doesn’t crash on his watch.
His bailout proposal pretty much sums up his 2 terms in office - shoot first ask questions later. I’m really glad that congress has slowed down to “think” about this and work out a better deal (Bush 3 pages, now 500 pages). With that said, let’s not kid ourselves the congress is thinking of their assess too. Most of them are up for reelection and have vetoed Bush’s initial plan because their constituents are so strongly opposed to it. From what’s been floating around, the new bailout plan contains many things to help out big corporations - tax breaks, etc - but the plan also has more help for main street.
Fingers crossed, the bill will actually help main street…
