I have been lucky enough to get a whole slate of new gear in recently but rather than going through it all individually here is a collection of stuff that came over to the Lodge.
Oskar from Denim Demon sent my a pair of his Sarves-in my humble opinion anyone that can produce high quality goods such as this product this early on in their existence as a brand, respect. Thanks dude.
He also included this exceptionally comfortable basic grey sweat, seriously, been rocking this non stop since it got here.
Yes, call me a geek and all, but I got psyched about my Metallica Membership tee.
anyone remember this?
Ian over at Garbstore hooked up this beautiful Flannel Jacket, great details, heavy as hell and warm. Thanks Ian!
Ralf, my man over at Vans Germany also hooked up a nice pair of Vans, I know it’s easy to pick stuff for me. Make that shit black and simple. Luckily he gets it right every time!
Gareth over at Pointer has brought out another killer collection ( is that what you call it in footwear? ), he hooked up his version of a low desert boot while I was in London. Again, been rocking these a lot so ‘xcuse the wear and tear.
new reading material also came around, this is Fly Magazine out of New York, not a traditional print magazine but actually all on DVD. Great concept, love it.
Anyone that knows me personally knows that I am an Atheist through and through, and Richard Dawkins is one of my favourite and most respected Atheist writers. Actually, he is an evolutionary biologist, but he is writing, reasoning and execution are superb, so superb that even I can follow his in depth scientific reasoning for the non existence of “god”. This is his first book, consider it a intellectual stepping stone to “The God Delusion” written 30 years ago. It focuses on the evolutionary process and interaction of everything from the most basic genetic code to hyper-societies. Fascinating stuff, and to think it was written 30 years ago, wow. Highly recommendable.
Most people that had the unfortunate experience of catching me slightly drunk during my regular historic rants will roll with their eyes now, but fact is, I am a total history nerd, especially European History. The Second World War I find hugely interesting, and Max Hastings, in my opinion, has written one of the finest accounts of the last year of the war, covering both Western and Eastern Fronts. I think the only other writer who can get close to Hastings is Norman Davies, but he approaches this subject differently, but just as well. The book is interlaced with tons of personal quotes ranging from Russian to Allied generals right down to privates on each side, as well as loads of professional analysis of actions during this last year of the war. Amazing and insightful reading.

Man, I need to get me some pointers and denim demons. They both look so good and I can tell they are quality. Not sure where to get either in the states.
