Ever since my surfing experience in Tasmania last year, I have been in awe of these athletes. Watching the O’Neill Cold Water Classic with my good friend, Laura Walters of WAD magazine and then getting the opportunity to be given a lesson by one of the pros was pretty amazing. I did manage to stand on a commpetition (short) board for about 1 second.  Completely changed my view of what I had always thought of surfers. The ones who compete are truly incredible to watch. Am proud to say that that particular heat was won by fellow saffa, Jordy Smith!
