…between the UK & our cousins in the USA, is that they are more open to ideas.

It never ceases to amaze me how we tend to talk something down & almost kill it off before it starts, while across the pond the attitude is more about how we can try & make it work.

Even as the Global Economy takes a downturn, ideas still find a platform in the USA. No wonder o much of our homegrown talent runs off to the states & makes it happen, & most do rather well.

I am reminded of my trip to LA last November…while sitting outside in a bar sipping on an ice cold beer in Santa Monica, a van comes up to the lights in front of me, & low and behold it has ‘The Cobra Snake’ written on the side. At first I was a little jealous that i did not have a van with FATSARAZZI written on the side of it, & then I went into the thoughts of the UK & USA. It seems in the USA they embrace the kind of work that myself, Cobra Snake & many others do, while here they like you but it never really gets to that level.

Why is that ? What is it about us ?

Also in my case I am known so much more outside of the UK, which always is a big surprise & quite humbling.

I have put in the time & have a crazy body of work from all over the globe…I am not saying that each one is a winner, but there is, in my opinion a 65% hit rate of goodies over baddies…spilled milk you say, perhaps…but what does it really take.

Perhaps if I really want to make it happen, I must, like many others quit this country & take the risk & head overseas…NYC or LA…shit maybe even Berlin. Means giving up a lot ere at home, but hey if you want to make it, it costs…& we all have to pay the piper sometime.

Heavy Fucking Metal Bread. Eat this!!!!!

Though this song is almost 20 years old it still makes me just want to break shit and go beserk – everytime I listen to it. In a positive way.

I discovered Earth Crisis back in 1996 I think, when I bought a copy of “Gomorrah’s Season Ends” at a Battery and Damnation A.D. show. I got a dub of “Destroy The Machines” earlier, but “Gomorrah’s…” really sparked my interest in the band. They were a major influence from then on, music-wise, but, more important, when it comes to the straight-edge- and vegan/vegetarian-lifestyle. They were among the first to really combine the sonic violence and intensity of extreme-metal with a hardcore-attitude. And all the controversy that surrounded them, the militance, were very appealing at that time and had me researching for more bands of such nature (and there were plenty in the mid to late 90ies).

With their first 7″ “All Out War”, released in 1992, they were way ahaed of the time. Their first full-length “Destroy The Machines” suffered from an indifferent, bottom-heavy production which makes it hard to catch all the details. “Gomorrah’s Season Ends” is EC on their creative peak. They were lightyears ahaed of all the “chugga-chugga” bands back then, with their complex compositions, the layers of sound, the production. My favourite release however, is their second 7″ “Firestorm”, released in 1993. For me it’s like the blueprint of what was to come in the later 90ies. They already show the ability to write rather complex songs, they develop a lot of the major motives and aesthetics … and with just four songs it’s 100% pure aggression from start to end.

I somehow lost the interest in their post-”Gomorrah’s…” musical output, but the material on the first two 7″es and the two albums are monuments. They perfectly capture the atmosphere and attitude of the 90ies vegan-sxe-scene, dark, gritty, aggressive and apocalyptic.

We sometimes used to cover “All Out War” (back to back with some old Strife-tune) back then and in 99% of the shows it was total chaos and rampage as soon as the first chords were struck and kids climbed on the stage, piled up, grabbed the mic and just went completely nuts.

So I got this interesting, pretty disturbing email from a friend this morning. As I am sure some of you know, I run this great little column on my other website The Reference Council, called Morning Wood. It is a pretty harmless, semi-ironic way of celebrating beautiful women. Do yourself a favour and bookmark it here if you haven’t done so already. I try to make it as unoffensive as possible and really try to focus on what I think are pretty smoking women. Life is shitty enough as it is, so I might as well add a little spice to it.

We have a Fan Page on Facebook for The Reference Council ( here ) that I use for cross-promotion of the content, specifically the Morning Wood section, as again, I think Facebook should really be called Lame Book. Some of my friends have been cool enough to cross link those posts onto their profile, which is always appreciated.

Now, just this morning this friend emails me and tells me that Facebook have emailed him informing him that they will terminate his profile if he continues to post these images.

I’ll let that simmer for a minute.

Not a moment passes and I get the same email.

So just to clarify, it is totally ok for anyone to write about hateful, racist, sexist, religiously motivated hatred, bigoted opinions but writing about half nude women is totally not ok for Facebook.

In all honesty, I find that so exceptionally shocking that I am a little at a loss for words here. Again, there is a huge group of people on FB that should really be checked into a mental asylum for the hate they spew on FB and that is totally ok for those frigid fucks. Racism, Sexism, Hatred and Violence. That’s all cool for Facebook.

Half Naked Women aren’t.

Right on, you weak, frigid, scared, motherfucking hypocrites.

Two choices, as far as I am concerned. Quit and leave FB. Or, bombard them with these images, most of which are a lot tamer than anyone can find in any given magazine and newspaper in the world and see what happens.

Adolf Hitler is alive and well and his name Mark Zuckerberg and his Department of Homeland Security is called Facebook. Fuck Yeah.

So have just found out that the Motherfuckers that we were using to front our office in Morocco have done a fucking runner & left us in a bit of shit.

I had a feeling that these people were a bunch of users, but no one would listen to me. I was wrong, but guess what I was so right & just like a little kid who gets their way I was so happy when I got to say that old expression, ‘I told you so.’ & my people had to take it.

It still makes me question the balls of people like this. How can they do it? How can they look you in the face & know the whole time that they will fuck you over. That criminal mentality has never been one I can get with. I understand it, but could never act on it.

Due to all the many movies I have seen I would like to find some wonderful way to get even, Mr Marsellus Wallace comes to mind, ‘I’m gonna call a couple of hard, pipe-hitting N***as to go to work on homes here…I ain’t through with you by a damn sight. I’m gonna get medieval on your ass…’

But as normal I will sit by continue on my merry way & allow Karma to take control of the situation, but sometimes Karma needs a push…you know.

I do wish at times that I could get Mafia on people & break a few bones to prove a point. I have some one in Paris that I could do that to, & now these 2 clowns in Morocco.

Ah well Karma it is.

I am sure by now everyone has heard of the terrorist attack in Stockholm. Firstly, I am happy to hear that it didn’t go off as planned, not only because I have lots of friends of Stockholm but also because any such attack, whether or not it takes place in Baghdad or here is bad news.

It is only a question of time before self righteous, wankers that call themselves civil servants will raise their ugly head and call out militant islam for this and cry for more security at home.

Now, each to their own, but this is how I see it:

Our governments, and I say our government, because I sure as hell have never voted for a party that either here in Germany or in England, that would have gone to war- something I am fully against – is directly responsible for pretty much all terrorism in the world. It is “our” foreign policies, which as we now know are directly pre-ordained by economic interests of said civil servants ( Dick Cheney anyone ) and some corporations, that now only cause terrorism but in most cases even trained them-

On a side note, just as the Westboro Bapist Church is no representation of Christianity, neither is Al-Qaida a representation of Islam. Deal with it.

Robin Cook, the former Foreign Minister of the UK wrote a great piece on all the above in the Guardian shortly before his death, which you should read.

Duh. Anyone with half a brain should know that, but I assume it is still not general knowledge.

My point being, it is our fucked up world, run by corporate proto-governments that are 100% responsible for all terrorist attacks in our world. We are “over there” bombing the shit out of their lives and world under the pretense of “liberating” them- who ever gave our civil servants this right?- whilst even the dumbest sheep herding AK-47 carrying Afghan warlord knows, that Enron and Co, want their damn oil. So not only are “our” actions directly responsible for the terror acts, but it’s also my tax money that paid for their fucking training.

Which leads to an other side note, who profits from the extra layers of security and paranoia at home? The same damn corpo-governments we install at home. With excess paranoia we are all kept dumb and afraid, which is what every politician wants. Additionally, war is money. Not only are “they” speculating on gaining natural resources by invading half the fucking globe, but also, making a killing at home. The same corps that push into unwanted wars are the same corps that profit from private security keeping us “safe” from the same terrorists we create and train with our tax money.

Just something worth thinking about next time you vote.

Who fucking knows when it comes to Women.

I am just left with the thought that we men will never understand women. I just don’t get it at all any more…not that I ever really did.

So been a single man near on 3 years & in that time I have had my fun & went out with a delightful lady for 6 months, but I will be honest I was a real assbag & that ended…& now, well lets just say, that bird has flown.

But while we are here, the way that certain women’s minds work is Gods own private mystery. I find some women so vague & non committal, no matter how vague or to the point we as men can be…or should I just say, how I can be.

I like it when it is plain & simple…straight up no messing…tell it how it is, & that way everyone knows where they are, & you can step accordingly. How ever the few of the Fairer Sex that I have been speaking to of late…wait…Fairer Sex, who named them that…ok they might be Fairer on the eye, but hell they are not all Fair that is for damn sure.

So I am being mixture of Upfront, Cavalier & Honest…& it gets me no where. YOU never know where you are & you have no idea where you are going.

Maybe I am talking to the wrong women.

What the fuck is that ?

Why do we all have to play games…straight up & confident should be the order of the day. hell if you are not interested just say so, & fuck the vagueness. But then same as we, Women do like to have someone paying them attention & someone they can keep in their Rainy Day Bag.
