Black Lodges to Ink N Iron
So it appears as if two of the East Coast Brothers of the Lodge are making our way to Ink N Iron to do some work…..Brother Nick Schonberger and I will be there to represent and get after some truths…..
Beer and Fire
There’s been a lot of complaining about snow and cold temperatures the past few days. It’s always funny to me because it’s just a part of life where I’m from. We’re a different breed of human though, instead of shying away from the cold and snow, we find ways to enjoy it. Such was the case this past weekend when I helped host a stag for one of my good friends. We managed to spend most of our time outdoors in spite of the -30C temperatures and thigh deep snow. Sometimes all you need is a few beers and a fire.

To The Test

A little while back I posted up THIS VID right here and on a recent trip down south in the PNW for some waves, we found ourselves with a bottle of red and no bottle opener. Well shit brother, I knew what to do. Breath was held as I took my boot and beat the cork right outta there. And like the questionable gent in the video demonstration, this bottle went straight to the lips without a glass. Bottoms up.

In America, we like to capture, kill, bottle, and sell our threats back to ourselves. Wonderful gem I came across in a Florida truckstop…
Back In The Saddle
I survived 12 days on the open road traveling all over the Dirty South. There will be stories and photos to come this weekend. But for now, enjoy my new pocket watch. I picked this up in Atlanta and I am on a mission to bring back the pocket watch for 2011 and into 2012 because they are fucking pimp.

While I was posting some killer African vibes to kick off your weekend last Friday i was also filling a back pack with socks and undies to hit the road from Vancouver to Portland to catch a reunion show I, and i’m sure a lot of you, have been hoping to see for years. I left my camera in the bag all weekend but luckily someone caught the action in the crowd. I felt pretty lucky to witness this lineup grace the stage. SLEEP!
As excited as I was for Sleep, it was also the chance to see Oregon’s own YOB that inspired the southern pilgrimage. Although I had listened to these guys before, the live show simply blew any expectation out of the water! So much so I marched my ass straight to the merch table and left with a tee and their new LP The Great Cessation. It was a pleasure to see that the members of the band had raced to the merch table almost as fast I had to man the sales themselves. Give the volume a turn to the right and give these guys a listen

‘Away from it all, the Hell’s Angels set the scene for a weekend in the country…’

Take 24 minutes and watch one of the most indepth, insightful and revealing documentaries on the original British chapter of the Hell’s Angels. Watch as they prepare their bikes for a ride, annoy their ex-wives, borrow their portable TVs off their Mums, get lost somewhere outside of Aylesbury, nearly smash up a café and then watch an episode of Dr. Who - here.
